The stunning countryside and cities of Laos are the backdrop to a charity bike challenge in aid of the National Deaf Children’s Society.
The tour begins in the picturesque city of Luang Prabang a UNESCO world heritage site on the banks of the Mekong river. The route then takes you through rugged mountains, lush rainforest and breathtaking landscapes as you tour the northern region of Laos. The challenge ends in the capital city Vientiane where you will have the opportunity to explore the many temples, markets and lively riverfront.
Along the route you’ll see spectacular sunrises and sunsets in the mountains, get to swim under waterfalls, visit historical caves, experience local cuisine, culture and of course get to meet the people of Laos. For the full itinerary click here.
Covering up to 90km in a day this is a challenging bike ride and certainly one for the cyclist who enjoys their adventure travel. Scheduled for October 2011 full details of the tour and how to register are available at the NDCS Challenges website.
